Day 2: Mostly Visiting Museums...
The highlight of the day was visiting the Academy (where the original statue of David is) and the the Galeria Uffizi. I have to say this: Michelangelo was a genius. His sculpture and painting do stand out for their colors, perfection, and the careful attention to the human body. I knew that, but when you see it in front of you, it is just too much. And so were the Botticelli paintings. Just too much--but no pictures allowed.
So for highlights on Day 2, here are pictures of our coffee break on top of the Uffizi, just under the Palazzo Vecchio.... It was the best iced coffee with just this amazing view of all the power from the Medici family.
